June 2018 Teaching Residency at Northwest Maritime Center

Hooray, I get the honor of being part of the excellent Maritime Discovery Program that brings 7th graders into the NWMC in Port Townsend to learn about maritime subjects, as well as spending time on traditional longboats, and working on marine themed art and movement projects thanks to Centrum. It’s many of my passions and skills all coming together, so i’m excited! Learn more about this program at

November 2018.  Artist Research Residency- Jefferson art and history Museum

I get the chance to cozy up against the cool November weather with a big old archive full of maritime treasures at the Jefferson Museum. I’ll spend the time researching and generating ideas for my 2019 Exhibit at the Northwest Maritime Center…and drinking coffee.  Port Townsend events during my stay include:

First Friday Lecture Nov 2nd,  7pm in the council chambers of the historic City Hall building.  This is just about me, my process, my love of cross pollinating with other disciplines, and the residency in general.

ARTWALK Nov 3rd, 5-8pm   I’ll be sharing my time between my studio at the Jefferson museum and Northwinds art center, where my exhibit Saltwater Lace will be on display through the month showcasing sketches, paper cuts, and prints from my Shetland residency last year.

Story Time at the Museum Nov 6, 3pm    Debut of a new little story I’ve been working on as well as some of the usual alphabet wiggly fun.

Open studio at the Jefferson Museum Nov 1-7   Come down to the creepy jail and hang a right. I’ll be setting myself up a work-space full of inspiration and sketches as I work on collecting and developing ideas from deep in the archives. Come say hello and take a peek at what I’ve been making. Open during museum hours, but please call ahead if you want to be sure to catch me.

2019  Northwest Maritime Center.

A long held dream of being the poster artist for the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend comes true this year, and with it a solo exhibit throughout the festival and September. I’m looking forward to time and space to create larger works and indulge in voyaging dreams.

Check out Venue in Seattles’ Ballard neighborhood, Riverside Studios in Truckee, CA, and The Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA for original framed artwork and prints as well as rolled prints and greeting cards all year round.
